Bremer County Tobacco-Free Coalition
Our Mission: To reduce death and disease caused by tobacco use and secondhand smoke.
This group is a subcommittee of the Waverly Area Partnership for Healthy Living coalition. The coalition is made up of various community-based members who meet monthly to discuss tobacco-related issues and promote cessation activities.

Freedom From SmokingŪ: Are you ready to quit smoking? Freedom From Smoking is a 7-week smoking cessation program offered to those who are ready to kick the habit. The program offers guidance and support through a variety of techniques in a step-by-step process. Building motivation, coping with urges, weight control and relapse prevention are a few of the topics covered. It is also offered on-line through the American Lung Association.

Youth Tobacco Prevention:
The youth tobacco prevention program is a peer education program in which high school students are trained to teach about the hazards of tobacco use. The students present to elementary school students in the classroom and urge them to live tobacco-free lifestyles.
