Four members of the Waverly Health Center (WHC) team have been named April Spotlight on Values award winners. Nominated by co-workers, patients and members of the community, these individuals are examples of WHC’s values in action.
Bonnie Wiegert of Stanley, laboratory, was recognized for the value of enthusiasm. Bonnie helps patients feel at ease. Her nominator commented, “I have comments from many patients on her friendliness and outgoing ways.”
Cherri Welter of Nashua, business office, was recognized for the value of excellence. Cherri made sure a patient had the medicine they needed during their stay. Her nominator commented, “She prevented a stressful situation for the patient, but made the patient feel like it was no big deal.”
Betsie Frey of Cedar Falls, pharmacy, was recognized for the value of innovation. She was nominated for her recent process improvement project. Her nominator stated, “Betsie was determined and committed to the project’s process and saw it through to completion.”
Donna Speedy of Hampton, emergency department, was recognized for the value of integrity. Her nominator said, “Donna exemplifies professionalism. She remains calm during the busiest and most hectic of days and treats all patients courteously and kindly.”
WHC has adopted six values which include compassion, enthusiasm, excellence, innovation, integrity and leadership. The Spotlight on Values program recognizes WHC employees, volunteers and physicians for demonstrating these values. Patients, visitors and employees are encouraged to submit nominations for the WHC Spotlight on Values honors. Nominations can be submitted online or at any Spotlight on Values ballot boxes placed throughout the health center.
