Waverly Health Center has started planning for a building addition and renovation focused on the hospital’s emergency department and clinics.
“We are very excited to start the planning for our building project,” Jim Atty, WHC chief executive officer, commented. “Our emergency department visits continue to increase and we need a patient care area that is set-up to handle the changing needs of the community. In addition to the ED, we need to increase the amount of clinic space we have available in Waverly. Our Christophel Clinic continues to grow in patient visits and we have visiting specialists who would like more time to see patients in Waverly, but we don’t have clinic space for them at the hospital.”
The hospital planning team will spend most of the winter and spring working with INVISION Architecture and Graham Construction. Heidi Solheim, the hospital’s chief operating officer, will help coordinate the estimated four-year project. “Four years seems like a long time, but it will fly by. We’re excited to think about how the project will enhance the care we provide for many years to come. The ED and clinics are areas we see growth and the new addition and renovation will help us continue to meet the needs of our patients.”
