Four members of the Waverly Health Center (WHC) team have been named February Spotlight on Values award winners. Nominated by co-workers, patients and members of the community, these individuals are examples of WHC’s values in action.
|Charles Lee of Waverly and Tyler Smith of Waterloo, plant services, were recognized for the value of compassion. A patient had a flat tire. Tyler and Charles tried filling the tire, but it wouldn’t hold air. They put on the spare tire so the patient could drive to a repair shop. Their nominator continued, “This saved the patient from calling a tow truck. She was so appreciative.”|
|Kris Weber of Cedar Falls and Sarah Moore of Waverly, Women’s Clinic, were recognized for the value of excellence. Their nominator shared, “Sarah and Kris provide consistently excellent nursing care in a fast-paced practice. They juggle faxes, refill requests, calls and rooming patients with compassion, grace, common sense and strong clinical skills.”|
WHC has adopted six values which include compassion, enthusiasm, excellence, innovation, integrity and leadership. The Spotlight on Values program recognizes WHC employees, volunteers and physicians for demonstrating these values. Patients, visitors and employees are encouraged to submit nominations for the WHC Spotlight on Values honors. Nominations can be submitted online or at any Spotlight on Values ballot boxes placed throughout the health center.
