October 13 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
The Waverly-Shell Rock football team and coaches are teaming up in a national effort to fight cancer through the American Cancer Society’s Coaches vs. Cancer program at the home football game on Friday, October 13.
W-SR head coach Mark Hubbard hopes to bring awareness to the fight against cancer by involving the players and fans at the game against South Tama. They are asking fans to wear pink along with their Go-Hawk gear in support of breast cancer awareness. The players, band, color guard, cheerleaders and dance team will be showing support by adding pink to their uniforms.
Waverly Health Center and the American Cancer Society will be at the game with important cancer prevention and detection information. Stop by for a free a pink bracelet to promote breast cancer awareness. Pink and purple hair extensions will also be offered at 1 for $7 or 2 for $10 with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.
