Spotlight on Value Winners

Seven members of the Waverly Health Center (WHC) team have been named March/April Spotlight on Values award winners. Nominated by co-workers, patients and members of the community, these individuals are examples of WHC’s values in action.

Alexis Fabian, Waterloo and Brooke Best, Fairbank, both social workers were recognized for the value of compassion. They were nominated for their compassion and hard work finding resources and services for a patient. Their nominator said, “The compassion they showed toward this patient was definitely going above and beyond their role at WHC.”

Corrie Ramige, of Shell Rock, is a marketing specialist who was recognized for the value of enthusiasm while her department was short-staffed. Her nominator wrote, “Despite the increased workload, she stepped up with energy and dedication, taking on additional tasks and projects without hesitation. She consistently demonstrated a can-do attitude, helping to keep things afloat and ensuring that everything continued to run smoothly. Her commitment and positivity have been much appreciated and a great example of this core value.”

Stacy Hamilton, of Waverly, is a respiratory therapist and was recognized for the value of excellence. “Recently I worked with Stacy as a part of couple critical care cases. She provided compassion toward the patients, speaking to them, explaining what would be happening, rubbing their arms and holding their hands, when everyone else was busy. She remembered the importance of providing reassurance and love to the patient and their families even when time was critical. I was extremely grateful for her presence and strength during both of these events. WHC is very lucky to have Stacy a part of their health care team,” her nominator wrote.

Morgan Jacks, of Waverly, is a pharmacist in the hospital pharmacy. She was recognized for the value of innovation. Her nominator wrote, “Recently Morgan compiled a shared Excel document with the patients receiving outpatient medications and infusions on an ongoing basis. Overall, this document she created makes the pharmacy staff more efficient when transcribing these orders.”

Katie Roose, of Parkersburg, is in the radiology department and was recognized for the value of leadership. Her nominator wrote, “Katie has gone above and beyond these past few months taking on the role of being our breast care navigator while ours in on a leave of absence. She has taken on this role with grace and has so much respect for our breast patients. I cannot thank her enough for being eager and very willing to accommodate not only our patients but being a huge help to our ultrasound staff and wanting to help in any way that she can. Day in and day out we have displayed great teamwork.”

Julie Cousin, ARNP of Waverly, Shell Rock Clinic, received WHC’s Quarterly Provider Spotlight on Values Award. Her nominator wrote, “Julie always has a smile on her face and kind words to offer. I have always admired her excellent work ethic and how she provides care to her patients holistically and scientifically. Her enthusiasm and her joy of working at WHC is obvious.”

WHC has adopted six values which include compassion, enthusiasm, excellence, innovation, integrity and leadership. The Spotlight on Values program recognizes WHC employees, volunteers and physicians for demonstrating these values. Patients, visitors and employees are encouraged to submit nominations for the WHC Spotlight on Values honors. Nominations can be submitted at any Spotlight on Values ballot boxes placed throughout the health center.
