At just six months old, Brynlee is a happy, easygoing baby who loves to smile and “talk” to everyone around her. Her parents describe her as a laid-back, go-with-the-flow little girl. But despite her sunny personality, Brynlee faced a tough challenge early in life—persistent ear infections that made her uncomfortable and in pain.
Brynlee had her first double ear infection when she was only two months old. In just a few short months, she had four ear infections, leading her doctor to recommend ear tubes to help prevent further infections and improve her overall comfort.
Having already experienced the compassionate care at Waverly Health Center, the family knew it was the right place for Brynlee’s procedure. The decision to move forward was an easy one. Visiting Specialist, Dr. Rodriguez with Cedar Valley ASCENT performed the procedure. From check-in to recovery, the care team made the experience as smooth as possible. “The staff was very friendly and got us checked in quickly. The nurse who took Brynlee’s vitals was so kind, talking to her and keeping her calm,” her mother recalled.
One special highlight of their experience was a visit from Miles, Waverly Health Center’s beloved therapy dog. “We loved having Miles come visit us!”
Before the procedure, the medical team thoroughly explained what would happen and answered all of the family’s questions. The procedure itself was quick, and afterward, the staff made sure Brynlee was safe and comfortable before going home. “The care team was great and communicated well about how she did during the procedure and what we needed to do when we got home,” her mother said.
Now, just a short time after getting her tubes, Brynlee is already feeling better. “She is back to smiling, talking and playing,” her mother shared. “Before the tubes, she had an ear infection that was causing her pain. I can already tell the tubes are helping her!”
For parents who may be facing a similar situation, Brynlee’s mother has a message: “The care team is great. The procedure is very fast, and the doctor is wonderful about explaining everything. Don’t hesitate to ask questions if you don’t understand something—the staff is more than willing to help! I can’t thank them enough for making sure Brynlee was safe in their care.”
With her ear tubes in place, Brynlee is back to being her happy, talkative self—ready to take on the world, one smile at a time.
