Sandi Dahlquist has been an active volunteer at Waverly Health Center (WHC) since 2006. She has witnessed – and been a part of – the gentle, compassionate care geared toward patients during their time at WHC. In May, she experienced that care as a patient herself.
Dahlquist visited the radiology department at WHC and had a computed tomography (CT) scan. Her feelings of discomfort were validated when the scan found kidney stones. She had a successful procedure to remove the kidney stones at another facility. Two days later, Sandi checked in at the WHC emergency department due to minor complications.
“All the staff at Waverly Health Center are accommodating,” said Dahlquist. “They take as much time as the patient needs in order to understand their situation, putting you at ease.”
With her kidney stones behind her, Sandi has returned to volunteering at WHC. She plans to continue using WHC for health care due to the caring staff in each department.
“You can tell that patients come first at Waverly Health Center,” she said. “Everybody there is so in tune to the patients and their needs.”
