We are committed to helping you plan for the cost of your care at Waverly Health Center. We can provide you with an estimate of what your procedure or service will cost you.
We consider the following information to determine your actual cost:
Looking strictly at the amount charged won’t get you a true picture of the final cost to you; any facility should be able to consider all of these things to give you useful information especially if you want to compare costs at different places.
Estimates Not Guarantees
Many of the services you need have a set price and can be quoted with certainty; for example: lab tests, xrays, CT’s, MRI’s, mammograms, ultrasounds, etc.
Other services are bundles of procedures that can change based on your individual case like surgeries, colonoscopies, therapy, etc. We use an “average” charge for these to try to give you helpful information even though we won’t be able to determine what your final cost will be. It is impossible to accurately predict how your case will go but we try to get close to give you something to plan for.
We are happy to work with you to get an estimate whenever you need it. Contact our Patient Benefits Representative at (319) 352-4935; leave a message if you don’t reach someone and you will be called back. There is specific information we are going to need to provide and accurate estimate. Complex procedures and surgeries will take time to prepare, so call early.
Our goal for you is to be happy with the service and the cost and provide you with options!

Disclaimer: Waverly Health Center price estimates reflect the hospital’s charge for your scheduled service. These are estimates only; the final bill may be higher or lower due to other services that may be ordered by your health care provider. The estimate also does not include fees for services provided by other facilities or non-WHC providers, such as the radiologist fee, pathology or anesthesia fees. You will get a separate statement from those providers.
No Surprises Act:
When you get emergency care or get treated by an out-of-network provider at an in-network hospital or ambulatory surgical center, you are protected from surprise billing or balance billing.

Good Faith Estimates:
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit cms.gov/nosurprises or call (319) 352-4120.
