Since 2007, Kristin and Aaron Anderson have trusted Waverly Health Center with their health care needs. Kristin received prenatal care in our Women’s Clinic. Their three children, Trice (7), Quinn (6) and Charlotte (3), were born here.
Dr. David Rathe, UnityPoint Clinic Family Medicine – Rohlf Memorial, is the family’s doctor. The health center team cared for Trice as an inpatient when he was fighting pneumonia and asthma.
When Charlotte was one, the family was referred to Dr. Felix Gonzales, ENT visiting specialist, for ear tubes. Kristin recalls that he was highly recommended by Dr. Rathe and also liked that they could get in to him quickly.
Two years later, Kristin had a tonsillectomy (surgery to remove one or both the tonsils). And in December 2016, both boys, Trice and Quinn, had their tonsils and adenoids removed by Dr. Gonzales.
“When it came time for my boys and me to have surgery, we wanted to stick with Dr. Gonzales. We were really comfortable with him and with Waverly Health Center,” said Kristin.
The boys’ recovery went well. They followed the doctor’s orders and were back in school sooner than expected.
“I was impressed with WHC from the start – I loved the staff, services and facilities. We moved to Fredericksburg in 2012, but wanted to keep getting our health care from WHC. Even though we’re now 35 miles away, WHC still gives us that home-like feel. We have always felt really confident in the staff and we’re treated like family,” finished Kristin.
