Tom Hubbard fell in love with Waverly back in High School when he and a friend made the trip from his hometown of Ann Arbor, Michigan to tour Wartburg’s campus. Tom attended college at Warburg, and then became an employee, retiring after a 34-year career there.
Tom has always appreciated Waverly Health Center’s presence in the community, and after retirement, decided he wanted to volunteer at the health center.
At a recent eye exam, his doctor told Tom that he had cataracts and would need surgery. Tom didn’t hesitate before choosing Waverly Health Center. “I wanted to be taken care of by people I know. The health center staff is very friendly and outgoing and the facility is very nice,” said Tom.
Tom needed to have surgery on both eyes, which meant two surgeries, two weeks apart. “The surgeries were fairly quick and after a couple of days I was seeing much better – objects were brighter and clearer. I’m really happy with the outcome and am thankful for the care I received,” finished Tom.
