Kris Meyer and her husband Don moved to Waverly a few years ago. They enjoy living in a smaller city and feel it is very important to shop local. So it was no surprise when Kris chose Waverly Health Center for her cataract surgery.
“Don and I love living and working in Waverly,” she commented. “We’ve embraced living here and cherish the warmth and friendliness of the town. My experience with the surgery center at Waverly Health Center was everything I imagined it would be.”
She continued, “From start to finish, I felt truly cared for. The whole experience was warm and connected. The environment in the surgery center was also beautiful and calming. I was impressed with the phone call from Jan the day before my surgery. Her pre-op teaching was very well done and she made sure I understood what I needed to do before I came.”
On the day of her surgery, Kris was excited to find out that two of the nurses who would be taking care of her had children in the preschool program where Kris works. “Anna and Sarah took such good care of me. They were attentive and I feel I received very personalized care. No one assumed that I understood what was happening and gave me and Don many opportunities to ask questions.”
Kris commented, “Customer service is a passion of mine, and it clearly was a priority for the whole surgery team. When I was taken into the surgery suite, I needed to keep my eyes closed because of the medicine they use to prepare for surgery. At that time, I was very attuned to the staff in the room and couldn’t help but notice that they weren’t just kind to me, but also to each other.”
“Anytime you are having surgery or are sick, you feel vulnerable. Knowing that the people helping you also care about you can make you feel safer. I highly value my experience at Waverly Health Center and the great team members who work there.”
